Three kinds of vendor, one label
Search "AI visibility" or "AEO services" and the results mix software companies, agencies, and a few that are both. They all describe the same problem: a buyer asks ChatGPT or Perplexity for a vendor in your category and the answer names a competitor. They do not all sell the same fix.
- Monitoring tools run your prompts against the engines on a schedule and show you who got cited. Otterly.AI, Peec AI and Profound are the three that come up on nearly every shortlist.
- Done-for-you services take the finding and produce the pages, schema and off-site signals that change the answer. Gushwork and Lean Labs are the two we are asked about most.
- Agencies with their own platform do both, on one invoice. That is where DoodleWeb sits, through SiteSonar.
The distinction matters because the report is the cheapest part of the job. Someone still has to decide which gaps are worth closing, write a page that an engine will cite, get it approved, publish it, and check whether anything moved. If that person is you, a monitoring tool is the right buy. If that person needs to be someone else, you are shopping for a service and the tool's price tag is beside the point.
What a monitoring tool gives you
Otterly.AI is the entry point. The Lite plan is $25/mo billed annually, Standard is $160/mo, Premium is $422/mo, and it covers Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity on the core plans with other engines as add-ons. It does not draft content, publish to a site, or re-verify a specific fix. It is a good first look at where you stand.
Peec AI starts at $80/mo billed annually (Starter), with Pro at $205/mo and Advanced at $420/mo. It is strong on multi-model tracking and source analytics. On September 21, 2026 Perplexity tracking moved to the Enterprise tier, so check the engine list on your plan before you sign. Content fixes and publishing are not core features.
Profound is the enterprise option. Its self-serve brand plans ($99 and $399/mo) were withdrawn in mid-September 2026; brands now get a 7-day trial and then a custom quote, and agencies pay $99/mo base plus $399/mo per client workspace. Enterprise accounts can track up to nine engines and include agent credits for drafting work. It is the most capable tracker on this list and priced for teams that have a content function to feed.
All three are measurement products. The output is a dashboard, an export, or an alert. What happens next is on your team.
What a done-for-you service gives you
Gushwork sells AI-search lead generation run by a set of agents (research, strategy, content, authority, follow-up). Pricing starts at $900/mo with no public tiers and no free trial; the typical all-in range reported by reviewers is $900 to $2,200/mo. It auto-publishes pages to your domain inside the first 30 days and reviewers note first qualified leads commonly arrive between day 90 and day 120. No performance guarantee is published.
Lean Labs is a HubSpot-focused growth agency with a packaged AEO offer: a free AEO Baseline Score, an AEO Launchpad from $12,000 one-time (on-site foundation and an "Answer Hub" built for LLM ingestion), and an AEO Authority Build from $5,000/mo for off-site work. The agency's own pricing page puts a six-month Launchpad plus Authority Build at roughly $42,000. Off-site authority is their strongest piece. No guarantee is published.
Both do the work. The questions to ask are how the work is measured, what the baseline is, and what happens if nothing moves.
Where DoodleWeb is different
DoodleWeb is a Seattle web agency founded in 2019 that builds on Drupal, WordPress, Webflow and Shopify. In 2026 we built SiteSonar, an AI search visibility platform, because we needed one loop that measured, fixed and proved on the same data. We run it for our clients and sell it to other agencies. That gives a DoodleWeb engagement five properties that are hard to get from a tool or a conventional agency on their own.
One loop, one team. SiteSonar tracks your buyer prompts across seven surfaces (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode), scores each page for AI readability, and drafts the answer page, FAQ block and JSON-LD schema for each gap. Our team reviews the draft, you approve it, and it publishes to WordPress, Shopify, GitHub, Lovable or Cloudflare. Seven days later the prompt set is re-run and the change is logged. The same people who wrote the page read the re-check.
A written baseline. Before any work starts, your AI Visibility Score, citation rate and tracked prompt wins are recorded. Every report after that is a delta against the same number.
A guarantee you can audit. If none of three thresholds is met at day 90 (score up 10 points, citation rate up 15 percentage points, or five net-new prompts where an engine now cites you), subscription fees for the period are refunded. The conditions are that you approve the recommended content, keep the platform connected, and attend one review call. We are not aware of another vendor on this list that publishes those terms.
Off-site work that is not just backlinks. Engines cite Reddit threads, LinkedIn posts and YouTube videos as often as they cite blog posts. SiteSonar flags the subreddit threads an engine is already pulling from and drafts the reply; it drafts LinkedIn posts in the executive's voice for approval; and it recommends YouTube topics from the prompts you are losing, with titles, descriptions and scripts. None of the other five vendors advertise all three.
Agency price of entry. Done-for-you is $1,200/mo per business for one domain: we track the buyer questions, write and publish the pages after your approval, fix the technical AI readiness, handle entity and listings work, and report weekly. Agencies that want to run the platform themselves pay $599/mo for three domains, white-label. Larger programs are a custom quote priced by the number of prompts tracked and how much we implement. Terms are month to month after an initial 90 days.
The numbers we can show
Our own US site, doodleweb.io, is the first client. Over an 84-day window, GA4 recorded 246 visits from ChatGPT and 19 leads from them, with weekly AI-referral sessions ranging from 5 to 69. Tracked citation coverage on our buyer prompts went from zero to 60 percent. Wildflower Hemp Co, a live client engagement, moved its citation rate from 40 percent to 50 percent across ten tracked prompts in 14 days and logged 105 AI referral sessions, with the first referrals inside week one. Those are specific engagements with specific starting points, published with their baselines, and they are not a projection for your site.

When a tool is the better buy
If you have a content team that publishes weekly, a developer who can add schema, and someone who will read the dashboard every Monday, buy Peec or Otterly and run the loop yourself, or run SiteSonar yourself on the $599/mo agencies offer. You will pay a fraction of a done-for-you engagement and keep the learning in-house. If you are an enterprise with a dedicated SEO team and a procurement process, Profound is built for you. A done-for-you service makes sense when nobody on the team owns the next step after the report, or when the site itself needs the technical work (crawler access, llms.txt, schema, Core Web Vitals) that a tool can only point at.
Questions people ask before choosing
Can I start with a tool and move to DoodleWeb later? Yes. We import your existing prompt set and record the baseline from your current tracking before we change anything.
Do I need to give you access to the site? Not necessarily. You can connect Search Console, GA4 and LinkedIn from your own logins, and publishing can run through an approval queue on your side.
How long until a prompt moves? Branded and long-tail prompts often move inside 30 days. Broader commercial prompts commonly take 60 to 90 days, which is why the initial term and the guarantee window are both 90 days.
Is this SEO with a new name? The on-page foundations overlap. The difference is the target: SEO aims for a ranked link; this work aims to be one of the two to five sources an engine names inside its answer. The measurement, the content format and the off-site sources are different.
