Education
Young Americans Center
Young Americans Center for Financial Education runs the only bank in the world for kids alongside a set of hands-on programs, AmeriTowne, International Towne, Money Matters, YouthBiz, and summer camp, that teach financial literacy to youth. Two audiences, two brands, one mission, and previously two disconnected websites. DoodleWeb ran a brand and experience repositioning, then rebuilt the platform on WordPress at WP Engine: a sub-brand system that lets Young Americans Center, Young Americans Bank, and each program keep its own color world while sharing one component library, program pages that lead with a plain-language promise instead of nonprofit jargon, and an editorial model that keeps mission content and regulated bank content cleanly separated. Shipped in 18 weeks. WCAG 2.2 AA conformant.
Agency Partner
NextLevel Connect

Education
George Brown College
George Brown College engaged DoodleWeb for a full AODA and WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility audit and remediation across their Drupal 10 platform serving 30,000+ students, 100+ editors, and 8 faculties. Combined automated scans (axe-core, Pa11y, Lighthouse CI) with manual expert testing (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, keyboard-only) surfaced 412 unique WCAG failures across 47 templates. In 24 weeks, DoodleWeb closed 100 percent of Level A and AA issues, shipped an AODA-conformant component library, delivered a VPAT 2.5 (WCAG 2.2 AA and AODA), lifted the average Lighthouse accessibility score from 74 to 98, and trained 100+ editors on accessible content practices. The college now publishes across faculties without reintroducing barriers, backed by weekly automated regression scans in CI.
accessibility
WCAG 2.2 AA, AODA, and ACR/VPAT reporting on request.
Every drupal development build we ship in Halifax targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA by default, with AODA and Accessible Canada Act alignment for public-sector and higher-education teams. Full audits, manual assistive-tech testing, and VPAT 2.5 (ACR) authoring are available as a paid deliverable.
Included in every build
Semantic HTML, keyboard-navigable components, visible focus states, labeled forms, alt text workflows for editors, color contrast baked into the design system, and an automated axe pass before launch.
Add-on remediation and VPATs
Full WCAG 2.2 AA audit with an issues log, manual NVDA / JAWS / VoiceOver / keyboard testing, VPAT 2.5 (ACR) and conformance statement authoring, remediation sprints on legacy templates, and ongoing monitoring with a monthly report.
Which accessibility standards does DoodleWeb build to for drupal development in Halifax?
Every drupal development build we ship in Halifax targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA as the baseline, with Section 508 alignment for US public-sector and higher-ed clients, ADA Title II readiness for state and local government sites, and AODA compliance available for Canadian audiences. Testing combines axe-core and WAVE automation with manual NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and keyboard-only walkthroughs.
Do you issue VPATs or accessibility conformance statements?
Yes. We publish a formal VPAT 2.5 (ACR) and a plain-language accessibility conformance statement as a paid deliverable, typically produced by our accessibility specialists after a Level AA audit. The VPAT covers WCAG 2.2, Section 508, and EN 301 549, and is suitable for procurement, RFP responses, and Title II documentation.
What accessibility work is included in a typical build versus a remediation engagement?
Included in every build: semantic HTML, keyboard-navigable components, visible focus states, labeled forms, alt text workflows for editors, color contrast in the design system, and an automated axe pass before launch. Offered as an add-on: a full WCAG 2.2 AA audit with an issues log, manual assistive-tech testing, VPAT / ACR authoring, remediation sprints on legacy templates, and ongoing monitoring with a monthly report.
Can you audit and remediate an existing site, not just build new ones?
Yes. Our audit and remediation practice runs independently of new builds. We have shipped WCAG 2.2 AA remediation for university, cultural, and enterprise sites including George Brown College and Trinity Western University, closing hundreds of issues, adding reduced-motion fallbacks, and lifting Lighthouse accessibility scores from the low 70s into the high 90s.
